Real Fashion: Steph and Jess (My Friend Franky)

Steph and Jess are twin sisters who write for the fashion blog My Friend Franky. This week we had some fun with the girls and asked them to each pick an outfit from their closet and share their style. As you can see, even though they are twin sisters they both have their own individual tastes – no matching outfits for these two ladies!

Here Steph and Jess share their thoughts…

About me

I have worked in the fashion industry for over six years doing product development and buying. I am have been fortunate enough to be able to travel to Europe, China and Indonesia, drawing inspiration, particularly from Hong Kong where it is all about clean lines and mixing textures.

About my style

During the week you would see me in this outfit, the heels are my favourite which were a great find – I bought them online from a Korean website last season. On the weekends, I mostly dress really casual, lots of denim and summer maxis with my favourite new snake-skin sandals from Country Road. I often switch up my handbags between Mulberry, Stylestalker and hippy finds with markets.

What are you wearing today?

Gorman stripe wool jumper – $340
Stylestalker leather pants – $189
G-market shoes – $35
Necklace from Chatachuk markets in Thailand – $6

About me

I am a 26-year old twin with my sister and Franky partner who I spend a lot of my time with. I work in PR for a big, fast-paced agency which keeps me out and about at meetings and events for a lot of the week. I’m lucky that I don’t have to wear corporate-wear every day so during the week I wear lots of chic pieces, mostly from Country Road or Witchery. I have been wearing a lot of bright colours and deep red recently which I partner with nude and black pieces.

About my style

During the week I wear outfits that can transition to night, lots of tight black pants, cute cropped jackets as I often head out to dinner or events after work with my husband and friends. I will pretty much wear anything from Zara as it has been my main shopping destination when travelling overseas for years. I love finding unique pieces from vintage markets, a few crochet tops that I wear with lots of accessories and maxi skirts on the weekend.

What are you wearing?

Black maxi dress from H&M – $60
Brown lambs leather jacket from Kookai – $650
Vintage black and brown belt from Kirribilli markets – $8
Strappy wedge shoes from Wittner – $120
White Marc by Marc Jacobs watch – $200

About My Friend Franky

We started Franky a few months ago as we found we were always emailing each other beautiful pictures and fashion inspiration – we thought, why not start a blog together. Franky is a combination of our style and our aspirations for how we love to look and feel. We find it has been a great outlet to share what we love with friends all over the world and we often turn to them for style updates from New York, London, Switzerland and throughout Asia. At first, we just wrote content for Franky when we had the chance, but now as we grow and get more dedicated readers – it is more about keeping them up-to-date with news, fashion, interesting people, style for the home and travel.

We have a trip to Europe coming up in June which is the source of inspiration for a lot of our content at the moment. We can’t wait to see the latest trends in Barcelona, France, Italy, London and Singapore. While we often love the same things, we think our readers can tell the difference in our posts and enjoy reading how different we are in the way we write and share.
