Lorna Jane Clarkson is my not so secret “girl crush (in a non creepy way)”, which I recently admitted when discussing the following story. As the face behind Lorna Jane (www.lornajane.com.au), she effortlessly combines glam and fitness into one.
We asked Lorna to describe in her own words, what she is wearing, where she got it and why it works:
Tell us about yourself and your personal style:
I always look for versatile and comfortable pieces that can take me from an early morning meeting to dinner with friends, with just the addition of a jacket or a change of accessories. I love injecting different colours and patterns into my wardrobe to compliment my favourite staples.
I often combine activewear and key fashion pieces so at the end of my work day I can just swap my heels for a pair of sneakers and I’m ready to go. I’ve always designed with my personal taste in mind, which is why Lorna Jane is filled with fashionable and functional pieces that are flexible enough to be worn beyond your workout.
Where would you wear this outfit and why you think it works for you?
I’d wear this outfit for a dinner with friends, as it’s fairly casual but the vintage jacket and statement jewellery add a point of difference. It works for me because it’s comfortable and easy to wear but still perfectly on-trend.

Top: Banana Republic
A good quality, flattering white tee is an essential in any woman’s wardrobe. I love the subtle detailing around the neckline, and the length is just right to wear with any of my Lorna Jane tights.
Tights: Lorna Jane
The Lorna Jane Amy Tights are an absolute favourite of our staff and customers. Not only are they versatile and comfy but the Amy’s feature seam lines to flatter you in all the right places! They’re also ideal for my workouts, as they’re made of our hi-tech LJExcel fabric.
Jacket: Vintage (My mum’s from the 1960s)
This jacket has been in my wardrobe for a long time and I wear it three to four times a year. I love having vintage pieces to personalise my outfits and this one has been in the family for over 40 years! It magically transforms my look from daytime casual to evening chic.
Necklace: Witchery
This necklace adds just the right amount of sparkle. The black and muted silver encrusting means it’s not too glitzy, and can be teamed with just a simple tee and shorts for a daytime look too.
Cuff: The Dawn, Fortitude Valley
I love chunky statement jewellery, and this cuff is perfect.
Why did you choose to put this outfit together?
I love teaming simple, staple items with more unique pieces to create an interesting look. This outfit shows how you can be comfortable but also fashionable by styling it up with the right accessories.
