Beauty and Lace were reminded this week, once more, that we are situated in the wrong state for fashion!
Wednesday October 5th saw Naughty for ZU launched at Beach Haus in Sydney. Naughty for ZU is the very first footwear collection by the very talented model and television presenter Erin McNaught, and such a great title for the collection – a little too clever for me at this time of night though to be totally honest.
The launch of the eight piece collection was toasted by a gathering of leaders in Sydney’s fashion scene and Erin’s friends on Wednesday night, the same day as the shoes hit stores nationally.

Geoff Measey, Marketing Manager of ZU, announced that there had been a number of sales across Sydney in the few short hours they had been on the shelves.
Naughty for ZU SS11/12 was create by McNaught and the ZU design team, a collaboration that has produced a collection that is described by Erin as being “Sexy, sky high, and totally wearable.” (I went and checked out the pics on the website and sky high is right – they would make even me look tall).
Erin McNaught also announced at the launch that the partnership will continue, she is already working on the AW12 collection. It seems that the multi-talented McNaught can add ‘designer’ to her impressive list of skills.

Kicking off the night was, of course, the official welcome; following which the up and coming Australian singer Elen Levon performed her appropriately relevant single “Naughty” complete with back-up dancers to give the night a kick start.
Guests were treated to ‘Naughty’ Russian Standard vodka cocktails, Peroni beer, and a broad selection of Asian inspired cocktail foods which included steamed BBQ pork buns, steamed prawn gow gees and vegetarian rice paper rolls to name enough to make me green with envy!
Australia’s Next Top Model mentor Josh Finn, dancer Adam Williams, designer Adrian Norris, makeup artists Max May and Benn Jae, television presenter Lizzy Lovette, actress Libby Munro, author Samantha Brett and three of the Bondi Rescue lifeguards, Harries Carrol, Corry Oliver and Dean Gladstone, were among the VIP guests.
It all sounds so hip, fashionable and fabulous that I really have turned green. And the shoes that Erin designed, inspiration for the evening are a gorgeous dream come true for height challenged women all over!
My blurb went missing… so now I have to bring you a new one. One that is a little broader too.
I devour books, vampires and supernatural creatures are my genre of choice but over the past couple of years I have broadened my horizons considerably.
I inhale music, hair metal that satisfies my inner bogan is where my musical passion lies, but again I’ve been exposed to lots of different music I wouldn’t normally listen to and have broadened those horizons also.
In a nutshell – I love to write! I love interacting with a diverse range of artists to bring you interviews.
Perhaps we were perfect before – I LOVE WORDS! Reading, writing, speaking, listening – if it’s got words I’m there!
